Rani says that he and his friends aren't welcome to the Tree of Life. Kion soon uses the Roar of the Elders on Baliyo and Rani gets upset. Upon seeing the Lion Guard, Baliyo attacks Kion and the rest of the Night Pride attacks the Guard. Baliyo, her younger brother goes up to see who the strangers are. Ullu leads the Night Pride to the Lion Guard. When Bunga causes a rock slide that blocks the entrance to the Tree of Life, Rani gets worried that the visitors might be a threat. At some point in her life, Rani obtained a scar on her foreleg from an unknown incident, which would last with her throughout her life. Rani had also lead the Night Pride, a nocturnal group of lions who are sworn to protect the Tree of Life, consisted of her brother, her uncle Surak, and the newcomer Nirmala. However, after the deaths of her parents, Rani's grandmother Queen Janna had taken Rani in and raised her to become the next queen. As the eldest, Rani was the future queen of the Tree of Life. Rani was the daughter of Sãhasí and Ãnanda and had a younger brother named Baliyo. Ultimately, this doubt and uncertainty led to Rani and Kion finding a connection as leaders, and sharing how they had both doubted themselves and their respective abilities to lead, causing them not only to begin to understand each other better, but also to let their friendship eventually blossom into true love. Getting to know Kion and the Lion Guard, especially after the heartbreaking loss of her grandmother and subsequent coronation as the new queen of the Tree of Life, helped Rani find the self-assurance that she needed to show that she was indeed ready to be queen, knowing that she had her friends and family at her side.

Still, she doubted about their good intentions and was wary of Kion a few times after the fact, especially when it was revealed that Makucha and his army had followed the Lion Guard on their way to the Tree of Life.įor all her strength and sense of duty however, Rani hides a vulnerable side of uncertainty and doubt in herself that she is hesitant to expose. It was only after reporting to her grandmother, who requested Rani to bring Kion to her after saying a few words of wisdom and consulting with the spirits of her parents, that she gave them a second chance and was impressed by how the Guard cleared the mountain passage and didn't venture through it as well as Kion putting his friend Ono before himself.

On her shoulder she bears the Mark of the Night Pride, as she is the Night Pride's leader. She has a bright, pink colored scar on the inside of her right front leg from unknown circumstances. The back of her four legs have many little, dark brown spots, which look similar to Kion's. The brownish-cream color of her lower eye rims is also present on her muzzle, her underbelly and her paws. She has a dark pink nose and her eyes are chocolate brown, with bright brown eye rims below her eyes. The top of her ears are lined with a similar brown, and her pink inner ears have dark brown fur underneath. On her back, are markings that look like a horseshoe. Rani is a sleek young lioness, with reddish brown fur and a dark brown stripe running down her back.
